Electoral Commission Agrees to Register ABBA

The Electoral Commission sends ABBA an official response to say that its registration has now been accepted.

Following a meeting that was held on 8th October 2021, the Commission discussed the application for the party’s registration, considering all the points brought forward by ABBA’s legal representative. The Commission was also notified about ABBA’s Judicial Protest brought forward against the Electoral Commission, which was scrutinised by the Commission’s lawyers.

In the light of ABBA’s letter and judicial protest, the electoral commission withdrew all the points they had previously used to prevent the party’s registration. ABBA’s registration was therefore confirmed and agreed upon with no changes to the party statute and no further unnecessary delay.

ABBA is now registered as a political party according to Chp. 544 of Maltese legislation, with effect from 8th October 2021.
